the master blaster.
despite the wwrp line being out for a while now, we've not seen a crazy amount of customs. i suppose that's a credit to the incredible paint apps straight from the hatchery. people aren't too anxious to mess with perfection. then there are the brave, like crestone. who outfitted this bertie with some insane upgrades. one thing bertie will never be criticized for is lack of firepower. but that doesn't mean you can't have more of a great thing...
lucky bastard and little shit [great names by the way]

...the ladies call me thor.

i'm guessing little shit doesn't do a lot of typical square disarming.
seems more like the "grinding ash into your open wounds" type...

say hello to my little friend... and my other little friend.
and also my big friend.
crestone has also got this guy in the works... damn.

i believe the word i'm looking for is godlike.
a better look at the unpainted duo.

i'm also pretty sure i don't have to tell you to not make fun of the little legs...
the construction and intricacy of these is damned impressive. you'd think he had a tiny cnc machine sitting on his workbench. you will be watched closely sir. this is the kind of work that tends to get you noticed.

martian booty.

...I like big bots and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a Drop walks in with an itty bitty waist
And a pistol in your face
You get shot, like a punk ass grunt
'Cause this you know this ain't no front
Blood on the clothes you're wearin'
You're hooked and you can't stop starin'
Oh Bertie, I wanna ride with ya
And meet your sister
My Legion tried to warn me
But those skinny little legs make me so horny
Ooh, a damn Large Martin
You say you wanna shell the reds?
Well torch 'em, burn 'em
Cause they ain't the average martians
I've seen Squares dancin'
And Armstrongs advancin'
Ready, to raid
Wastin' terrans like a Peace Day parade
I'm tired of M.O.D.
Saying hack bots are the thing
Ask Rothchild in his lunar seat
They gotta pack much heat
So, Legion (Yeah!) Legion (Yeah!)
Has your Bramble got the gat? (Hell Yeah!)
Tell 'em to pop it! (Pop it!) Pop it! (Pop it!)
Fill 'em full of lead!
3A got bots!

dark days and brilliant nights.
dump the pitchers of beer. put down your jager bombs. pour out the 40 for a fallen homie...
ashley wood - "NW/DW are the fine wine of 3A..."
let's class this joint up. put a little nightwatch and daywatch on the table. the oft misunderstood warriors aren't just generic bots...
ashley wood - "NW and DW do exude a classy more elitist feel, and that's what they are supposed to do, presidential guard, parades, etc, they don't see action on dirty battlegrounds."

the clouds began to part, but 86 new there would still be rain...

separated from his detachment, his deep six programming
ensured this snow would soon blossom with red.

private school bots always know how to party.
i must say, their effect does multiply quite substantially once they have serious numbers. tigerfeet's collection completely stopped me in my tracks. for any of you on the fence about the glossy sheen of the nw/dw crew, give it a minute, like all of 3A these guys will have you by the throat before you know what hit you.

building an army.
no big deal. just some mind blowing preview shots of the army assembling in beijing. event explained here. i'm really quite surprised the chinese have allowed such a formidable opponent to set up shop right in the heart of their country. it must be the squares... they have no idea how dangerous the little fuckers can be.

yeah, you gotta watch em.
this one tried to bite my nut off yesterday...
that little tooth isn't so little when it's buried in your thigh.
1:1 large martin weapon of choice.

oh, i didn't mention that?...
IT'S FOR FUCKING SALE.
yeah. i know. crazy right?
3A is on the verge of going supernova, with ash as the most brilliant mad toy scientist the world has seen yet. this is epic stuff they're doing. for the first time since i was 7 (or maybe the first time i saw the internet), there's something that feels truly big. something far beyond normal parameters. something to get really fucking excited about. i am in awe again, and it feels fantastic. i'm just happy to be along for the ride.

the mother lode.
holy balsagna. there's a storm brewing in beijing and it's looking to do some damage. 3A is slowly releasing info about their next art event on june 25th... it's going to be like christmas in july... um, in june.
toys! art! some sort of live music! probably beer! i'm supremely sad that i won't be able to partake in all the legendary festivities. tickets to china tend to not be cheap. but i can live vicariously through the rest of the legion. that's healthy right? at least financially.

i think she's ready...
there will be work from these 5 badasses and badassette.
[jem's will be in the form of prints, not ogs]

[these are just examples. we don't know yet what they'll show in beijing]
[understatement of the year]
all of the below will be available in some quantities.

but wait, there's more...
remember when i dropped the megaton bomb about 1:1 squares?
which by the way will be making their debut at this show.
this is better.
a 12 foot tall metal large martin [nearly 1:1]
weighing in at 1900 pounds of fuck you.

...head explodes.

/rechecks prices of tickets to beijing...
head explodes again.
i am just in awe. i'm also filling with a combination of sadness and jealousy. i think it's called whyohwhycan'tigetmydumbasstobeijing. amazing artists, amazing toys and a small army of life size robots will be dancing through my head for the next two months. if you are cool enough to make the trek, make sure you check in here to talk to all the other cool people in the cool club. i'll be sitting here anxiously waiting for pictures.
and as always, the best place for more news about this mecca of awesome is the blog or gimby's news.

it's gonna be a massacre.
friday is fast approaching and bambaland is getting more insane by the minute. an entire battalion of wwrp large martins are set to be deployed. because of the crazy number of packs that will be available, i decided to give you a visual breakdown so your heads don't explode. it's simple, kinda.
for $130 you can pick yourself up a trio of 1/12 wonders. each of the three packs consist of a large martin, a damn large martin [two guns] and an rpg bramble [fucking rocket launcher!]
never content to rest, ash has added several new paint styles to the growing list: dam buster, phobos, norge, pink dazzle, mod chip [pirate] and grave digger [special ops].
as always, click on any image to make it big.
blank figures are placeholders until we see the real deal.

but that's not all! for a limited time, you can pick yourself up a 3x3 pack consisting of everything you see above for $350. that's everything in pack 1, everything in pack 2 and everything in pack 3... lucky purchasers of the mega set will receive... for free, i repeat for free, a wwrp blanc de plume! that's three large martins, three damn large martins, three rpg brambles, one of which in sexy pink dazzle AND a free blanc de plume. that's at least 13 guns a blazing! fingers on your paypal buttons, quantities are limited. operators are not standing by.
1/6 blanc de plume shot from cris rose

free. like a bullet in the head.
and that's. not. all. i don't know how they keep doing it, but my jaw is on the floor. there are also two more ridiculously awesome squadron packs. all the troops in matching colors ready for some serious shit. no word on price yet, but with random drops and no word on quantities, you'll be lucky to see these teams sitting in your cart. [they will go fast]
frosty choad corp

both martin flavors, rpg bramble, square, bertie with shotgun...
and ice in their hydraulic veins.
the big reds

single and double barrel martin, rpg bramble, square, and sabre bertie [sword?] with a healthy dose of communism for good measure.
and the one other tease we've seen is a retail only colorway. auspublic region def. i'm sure he won't be alone. for reference, all the larges in the above packs will not be available anywhere else.
so if you've had your fancy tickled, you know where to find them.
if you're lucky enough to be 3AA, there will also be a nightwatch/daywatch/diy large martin pack.

for the record. i created all the compilation images above using bits and pieces from the official blog. so for the 100% real word, go there.

a deadly throne.
before i get to the good stuff, i have an announcement. it's other good stuff. i got married on new year's eve and will therefore be going on an amazing honeymoon on monday. that means you [all 7 of you] don't get any new content till i get back. so don't delete my bookmark, i haven't died. i will return and i've already got a pile of awesome shit to show you. stay tuned.

i'm a fuckin robot y'all!
he's coming.
the 1:1 square, not the random kid in protective gear. ash has said it himself. and so it will be. scheduled to drop at the next "3A art event", which is still a mystery in itself. my theory is that it will have something to do with the jerry bruckheimer produced film of the WWR universe.
only 20 of the deadly little bastards will be made, presumably in fiberglass. although presuming means fuck all when we're talking about 3A. they're likely to make it out of compressed peanut butter just to show everyone else it can be done. ready to hold your cold beer during the game or just chase your kid around the living room, the square will stand about 24" enormous. ash has also said that each one will be different. of course they will. as much as i'd love to have one of these friendly/deceptive machines, i'm sure they will be instantly snapped up by luckier men than me. i'm sure we'll get more info before they get deployed in the summer.

grinding gears.
cris rose is unstoppable. from his aquatic lair, he continues to one-up himself with more advanced and fantastical creatures. his style and technique continue to expand and refine, and it's brilliant to watch.
i can't keep up.

paul bunyan couldn't hold a candle to monty.

if these don't get you excited, then you have no eyes. be sure to click all of their names for their wonderfully elaborate stories. i'm itching to see what cris does with the pallet of full-size armstrongs he's got burning a hole on his workbench. stay tuned.

battle of the bonnie blue brits.
this is an evolution. a small epic. the story of a boy. a boy who deep down wasn't a boy at all. only 1s and 0s whizzed through his head.
an unthreatening facade, just a little rough around the edges, kept him safe. this boy who would be boss traveled. snow capped mountain majesties became his companions. he spoke to the animals,
but none spoke back. he was content as a solitary traveler.
a collector of information. a sentry unaware of the mission he was so perfectly executing.

must take a big needle to tattoo steel.

he didn't mean to squeeze jerry so hard. honest.
at least he doesn't talk as much now.

chugging away, forever with an appropriate halo of smoke.
then the day that everything changed. the boy heard a whirring inside that he had not heard before. he felt funny inside, started seeing changes to his body. tubes where there were no tubes. gears replicating gears. thicker smoke than ever before. and oil everywhere for all his new additions. a strong urge to destroy washed over him. using a couple of sturdy hedgehogs and some sulphuric acid, he shed his tattoos for something a little more streamlined. he was now the machine he always knew he might be. an armored bulldog of survival. there would not be much in the quickly approaching war that would catch him off guard...

stepped in moss. one eye rusted shut. and leaking oil.
it was a good party.

this thing come with a transmorgrifier?
sweet. let's turn hobbes into a rhino.

during the zombie wave of 1940, home cremation bots
became all the rage. large and ungainly,
but available in patterns to match your decor!
three more killer bots to add to the 3A customizing fun. the first bambaboss above was done by custard4gravy. a beautiful rusty landscape of skull-pecking birds. check out all of his fantastic work
the second and thirds were done by the always amazing cris rose.
you know where to find him. at one point, ash made a comment about bambaboss being the field general for all the squares. so the matching duo here fit together nicely.
i loved that the guys used the exact same palette for their brilliant bosses, so i gave them a connecting story. hope you two don't mind.
